SUMMER CAMP INFO
As soon as Martie Sullivan moved Sweet Basil to a larger space she fulfilled another dream: cooking classes for young chefs. And not just “kids-easy” dishes but the real deal. (See some of the sample classes below.) The TV cooking shows were gaining followers of all ages. Martie wanted to offer them a serious and fun environment with professional chefs teaching them to emulate their TV heroes.
Sweet Basil has classes for young chefs scheduled throughout the year. We are well known for the Summer Cook Camps. Classes are also scheduled on Saturdays during the school year and extra classes during vacation periods. Parent+Young Chef classes are also popular.

DADS (or MOMS) & KIDS COOK – Saturday November __ 9:30 AM-12:30 PM
Dads (or Moms) & kids will cook together as partners in this fun hands-on class. Come learn a menu you’ll love to share with your family! We’ll make Tomato Bisque with Bacon & Cheddar Paninis; Grilled Vegetable & Alfredo Lasagna; Chicken Satays with Peanut Dipping Sauce; Mushroom & Asiago Cheese Risotto Balls; Pesto & Sausage Calzones; Fried Cheese Ravioli with Marinara Sauce, & Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies.

This class is for people ages 8 and above who like to work in the kitchen & are ready to learn more! Come for a fun lesson & make Pizza Potato Skins; Corn Dog Muffins; Green Beans with Lemon & Garlic; Homemade Applesauce; Steak Fingers & Gravy; Homemade Pasta with Homemade Pesto, & Indian Fry Bread with Cinnamon Sugar & Honey.

SPOOKY FOODS – Saturday – October __ 9:30 AM-12:30 PM
This class is for people ages 8 & above who love Halloween & are ready to prepare a menu with yummy, spooky foods. You can use the recipes to “scare” your family! This class will prepare Devilish Deviled Eggs; Mummy Pizzas; Halloween “Ghoulash”; Ghostly Sandwiches; Halloween Doughnut Holes on a Stick; Bat Cookies, & Mad Scientist Punch!

Monday – GRILLED SANDWICHES: Three Cheese Grilled Cheese; Mini Croque Monsieur (Grilled Ham & Cheese); BLT Grilled Cheese; Turkey, Green Chili, & Grilled Cheese; Fritos, Chili & Cheddar Grilled Sandwich; Grilled Hamburger & Cheddar Sandwich, & S’mores Grilled Sandwich.
Tuesday – BREAKFAST: Sausage Pancakes with Cinnamon Syrup; Homemade Biscuits with Honey Butter; Breakfast Tacos with Scrambled Eggs, Cheese & fresh Salsa; French Toast with Strawberries; Breakfast Potatoes with Bacon, & Strawberry “Pop Tarts”.
Wednesday – PIZZA PARTY: Bacon & fresh Tomato Pizza; Pepperoni Pizza; Three Cheese Pizza; BBQ Chicken Pizza; Potato Pizza with Cheese & Fresh Herbs; Sausage & Marinara Pizza, & Italian Salad Pizza.
Thursday – FOODS OF THE WORLD: Chicken & Vegetable Kebabs; German Potato Salad; Vegetable Egg Rolls; Chicken & Cheese Enchiladas with fresh Salsa; Beef Tepanyaki with Soy Dipping Sauce; Pita Bread with Hummus, & Strawberry Gelato.
Friday – CUPCAKE WARS: Vanilla Cupcakes; Chocolate Cupcakes; Red Velvet Cupcakes; Carrot Cupcakes; Banana Cupcakes. Class will work in teams to make cupcakes, then choose colors for icing and decorations to finish.
