SOUTHWEST SIZZLE
Southwest cuisine is exciting food because there are dynamics in each bite. It is layered with flavors, full of contrasts, is lively, and satisfying. From it we get smoky and fresh, spicy, cooling, hearty and bright. Building flavors through roasting, grilling, charring, seasoning and sauces, make flavors pop. These are the things we will experience and learn about in this fun class. Our lesson will be Southwestern Butternut Squash Soup; Skirt Steak and Green Chile Cilantro Toasts; Oven-Fried Potato and Cheese Tacos Dorados; Mexican Shrimp in Garlic Sauce (Camarones al Mojo de Ajo); Mexican-Style “Dry” Noodles with Chicken (Sopa Seca de Fideo); Street Corn Pudding, and Mexican Orange and Cinnamon Muffins (Mantacades).
